"TIN BOX" 2012 Video/35mm Film Animation, Computer Animation/Stop Motion/Super 8, 9' 32"
As a child, I remember myself giving colours to words, as an adult I see movements when I hear music: A tin box filled with needle lace belonging to the artist's mother, becomes animated for a film based on Greek traditional children's songs, and acts as an intermission between two performances of a talking doll, and as an interpretation of the music instruments and their improvisation into animation. Old Super-8 footage runs during the movie focusing on old toys, traditional games, and family gatherings. Each flower motif represents an instrument of the theme jazz-arranged children's song. My synaesthesia.
